The Vorax's Lair is a cave system on Hillys, located north of the Lighthouse Shelter. Its gate entrance is found up a sandy beach on the headland behind Mammago Garage.
Description[]
The lair's ecology is very similar to that of Black Isle. Inside, a small docking jetty leads up to an entrance covered by a wire grid. Beside this is a chest containing a PA 1 and several Boost capsules.
The front of the cavern is the territory of a colony of Palinurus rupestris. Clusters of jellyfish also pose a threat to intruders. A series of bridges must be lowered to reach the back of the lair where a couple of Crochax velox gather, one of them carrying a Pearl. The rocky environment also boasts several fragile Materia Crystal spurs.
Beside these predators, the lair is home to several more passive specimens, including two-legged toads, cave alicias, and exploding mushrooms.

The Vorax Lair is similar to the Volcano treasure in the way of having a Crochax with a pearl, but in the lair there is only one Crochax and one pearl. Also Unlike the Volcano, the Lair can be accessed much earlier without the Beluga. The Lair is located between Mammago Garage and the Black Isle. Tucked to the side, with a large Looter's cave style door for an entrance.
Inside the Lair several types of enemies will be found, none of which pose much of a threat. Like a Looter Cave, in the Lair the Crochax will continue running until you pin him against the end of the map, fighting land jelly type enemies in between.

- Oddly, the Vorax's Lair contains no Vorax, only Crochax. It is unclear if this is a developer oversight.
