Oh, the irony and despair of videogame news websites these days-- only caring for the highest amount of viewers by allegedly fake news.
Several websites have stated that the Zavvi.com, the infamous online game retailer, has listed Beyond Good & Evil 2 for pre-order as of last Thursday, along with the release date of the game set on March 22, 2014. The following is a screen capture directly from their website.
Designed by Michel Ancel and his acclaimed design team at Ubisoft, this is a sequel to the beloved adventure game, Beyond Good & Evil.
The game has not yet, however, been officially announced under the title "Beyond Good & Evil 2" it is instead referred to simply as "Next Michel Ancel Project" after its creator, it it might possibly have a unique title to reboot the franchise.
However, the listing is filled with numerous indications of forgery and fakery:
- The cover is obviously an edited title and certainly is a picture of Jade in Beyond Good & Evil.
- Since 2010, the PlayStation®3 covers had an overhaul (e.g. see image). The cover that Zavvi listed on their website, is they old design.

- Michel Ancel has said that Beyond Good & Evil is scheduled to be an next-generation game-- then why is a PlayStation 3 cover shown? (Dummy?!)
- It hasn't, yet, been confirmed by both Ubisoft and/or Michel Ancel.
So we can safely say that this was just a simple marketing attempt from Zavvi's perspective, however, we have to thank Zavvi, because they quiet literally made on several big and trustworthy gaming news network with this news.
