Keys in Beyond Good & Evil are a method of opening encrypted doors - they are used extensively by the Alpha Sections.

Triangular Key[]
The Triangular Key is primarily used for decrypting doorways within Alpha Section territories; it is also used as a way of enabling and disabling certain barriers. It is obtained twice in Beyond Good & Evil, the first time being in the Nutripils Factory and the second time in the Old Slaughterhouses. This enables companions to assist with double triangle locks requiring two keys.
The Triangular Key is required to advance and or enter in these locations:
- Nutripils Factory
- Old Slaughterhouses
- Alpha Sections Underground Headquarters in the Pedestrian District
Square Key[]
The Square Key is almost identical to the Triangular Key in terms of function. It is mostly used for advancing further into Alpha Section territories. It is only obtained once during the operation in the Nutripils Factory. The Square Key is required to advance and or enter in these locations:
- Nutripils Factory
- Old Slaughterhouses
- Alpha Sections Underground Quarters
- Shed in the Pedestrian District
Star Key[]
The Star Key is obtained via the Governor of Hillys, and can only be used on one doorway — that being the one leading to the Alpha Sections HQ, near the Fountain Square.
