Ganesha City is a location featured in Beyond Good & Evil 2.
It is situated on the light side of the moon Soma in System 3. The city is an important center of commercial and industrial production for the System.
History[]
Ganesha City was one of the first large urban settlements in System 3, established by colonist expeditions from Earth in 2225. The city is dedicated to its namesake Ganesha, the Hindu deity and 'remover of obstacles'.[1] Soma was chosen for the settlement as when viewed from above the location resembled the shape of India.[2] The architecture and culture of the city reflects that of its founding settlers from the Indian subcontinent and South East Asia.
Society[]
Ganesha City is a diverse hub of commerce and tourism, with its infrastructure built by Hybrid slave labour. The Old City District is the historical and spiritual heart of the city. The upper levels of the city feature commercial thoroughfares, gardens and shrines, and are off limits to Hybrids. The lower levels are home to the Hybrid population, defective clones, criminals, and outcasts.
In the city's underworld lies the Entertainment District, ruled by Zhou Yuzhu and his attendant Li Daiyu.
